Creative programming for businesses
+316 13 727 396
Hello, my name is Thijs van Beek and I am a designer, developer and project manager from the Netherlands, living in Luxembourg.
I have a broad experience working for small businesses, global enterprises and academic institutions developing anything from large e-commerce sites to single page applications, mobile apps, graphic design for print and web, and interactive visualizations.
Companies often use outdated tools and have lots of valuable data they don't utilize.
Together we can develop innovative ideas which will improve your business processes.
These projects often have both a creative and an advanced technical component. The outcome ranges from high performance database driven applications, number crunching for dynamic real-time analysis and reporting, to A.I. based data processing hooked up to a User Interface that looks good and is intutitive to use.
I am very confident that every company can benifit from this. If you are too then please get in touch.
Feel free to contact me and I am more than happy to meet you!
Showcase ChainStore
ChainStore Point Of Sale
ChainStore is an advanced, multistore e-commerce and POS platform I have developed. It offers retailers a complete sollution for stock control, customer relationship management, sales analytics, all connected to their webshop and physical store cash registers.
With ChainStore, shop owners large and small have more insight into their business by maintaining a single stock for all their stores and webshops. Because it runs in the cloud, they have access from any place at any time.

Visualizing Visions
Exploring the RijksMuseum Dataset
As part of an ongoing research project, I developed an online visual story together with Art Historical researchers from the University of Luxembourg. The Dutch Rijksmuseum invests heavily in Linked Open Data by digitizing their collection of around 1 million art objects and making it available online.
The goal of the project is to showcase the potential of digital collections, and to demonstrate the possibilities of utilizing digital tools and methods for Art Historical research.
Showcase Light Application Center 360°
Light Application Center 360°
The Philips LAC (Light Application Center) is a global network of showrooms where they demonstrate the latest in lighting technology and how businesses (factories, offices, airports, etc.) can use different light settings and configurations.
Philips shows that light can alter the atmosphere. For example, it can improve revenue by making edible produce look extra fresh, guides people's attention so they find their way more easily or keeps workers more alert by mimicking daylight.
For this project I developed an online experience of the showrooms, where the visitor can choose different lighting applicaitons, look around in 360° and find out more about the different fixtures.
This project was done in collaboration with Centagon, a renowned digital marketing company from the Netherlands.
